The Parent Council represents the Parent Forum, which comprises all parents and carers of pupils at Stromness Academy. We are a group of parents and staff who work with the school to assist and give opinions on a whole range of topics, as well as raise funds for the school.
Parent Council members are representatives of parents of pupils in each year group where possible. Our office bearers are generally appointed at the Annual General Meeting but we meet approximately once a term and welcome participation from any interested parents or carers We invite you to get in touch at any time if you would like to get involved. We have children throughout the school years and are a friendly bunch who welcome new faces at any meeting without any invitation being necessary.
We have recently set up a fundraising sub-committee which focuses on fundraising events. Parents are very welcome to participate in this, whether as well as or instead of the main Parent Council meetings.
