Senior Phase (S4-6)
We cater for all pupils throughout their time at Stromness Academy regardless of their starting point by offering Mathematics (BGE S1-3, N4/N5/Higher/AH) and Applications of Mathematics (N3/N4/N5).

Extras
We extend and widen pupils’ interest in Maths with the use of IT and problem solving.
- We pay for the MyMaths licence which is a Mathematical website covering topics and levels from S1 to S6. We use this site for homework and learning and teaching in the classroom.
- We use Sumdog regularly in S1 to S3 for local and national competitions.
- We take part in the UKMT Challenge competitions to improve problem solving.
Support
We pride ourselves on being an open and caring department. We offer regular supported study throughout the year. After school is on twice a week and we offer additional support at lunchtimes if required. In the run up to assessments and exams we try to be available more frequently to support the students.
